Japanese Christmas

Christmas is just around the corner. I'm going to write about Japanese Christmas.
Most of Japanese think Christmas is not religious event, so Japanese Christmas is too commercial. We'd like to celebrate Christmas doing such a decorate a tree, buy a Christmas gift like Europe and the United States.
Although most of country might have a similar circumstance, Christmas is the perfect time to selling a product.
Then, most I can't understandable thing is that Japanese market bust a gut to sell a Christmas cake. Japanese Christmas cake is seems like a birthday cake, in any case Japanese people want to eat at Christmas.
But I'm not. I have a bad memory of Christmas cake. When I was working at a store, I have quota of selling Christmas cake. And my ex-job also have this quota even the firm is making meat processed foods. But I said the boss "I don't want a Christmas Cake!!" and quit the job.

I just wondered that Europe and the United States eat that kind of cake at Christmas? But I think Japanese Christmas is very distinct.
Japanese media often talked about how do you spend at Christmas. But I think most of people are working because Christmas is not national holiday in Japan.

Possibly, Christmas in Europe and the United States is very similar to Japanese New Year's day.
